This text explores verb time, tense, aspect, and mood through comparison of Arabic and English sentence patterns. It includes examples of the Arabic patterns from classical and popular sources so Arabic students can learn by explanation and example how to formulate cohesive and grammatically correct sentence structure.

While this guide is intended mainly for English-speaking students studying Arabic, the charts also provide a quick reference of English sentence patterns for Arabic speakers.

This is an open textbook on Beginner Arabic for undergraduate students who are taking Arabic in their first semester. It addresses letters and sounds of Arabic along with basic skills in reading, speaking and writing. The book can be used as a self-study resource or as the main textbook in beginning Arabic classes.

This is an open textbook on Elementary Arabic for undergraduate students who are taking Arabic in their second semester. It addresses language structures in theme-based modules that cover the four language skills. The book can be used as a self-study resource or as the main textbook in beginning Arabic classes.

This book is for students who have studied Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) for one year or more and would like to learn colloquial Arabic basics using their knowledge of MSA. It aims at transitioning learners from Novice Mid level to Intermediate Low through presenting situations useful for living in an Arab country. The book has several features including hyperlinks, practice dialogues with open answers, cultural tips, and more.

In this activity, students will play a game to learn some of the most common present tense verbs to use in their daily life. The verb is related to the units that they are taking during the semester. 

Let’s Chat! Arabic features a collection of over 28 interpersonal speaking activities for novice and intermediate learners. Touching on a range of thematic topics such as greetings, daily routines, health, eating out, holidays and so much more, Arabic teachers are sure to find an activity to use in their courses. These activities may be used as is or can easily be revised and remixed to fit the unique needs of individual classrooms.

After completing my Arabic minor, I wanted to continue my studies but encountered few resources to do so independently. Given my six years of Arabic experience, I decided to write a free, online, Intermediate Arabic textbook through my Open Educational Resources internship. I chose to write a textbook because I saw the value in Arabic materials from the perspective of a student, as I can relate to the struggles of learning Arabic. As so, I structured my project to act as a digital pocket guide for students to use when studying or traveling abroad. The textbook currently contains five units broken down into sections of vocabulary, grammar, cultural dialogues written by Arab students on campus, study abroad advice, and practice activities.

In this activity, students will focus more on giving and completing a task. Students will be given a tree; each with words on the side. Students will create their own family tree and then will ask and answer questions about families.
