About VIVA
VIVA is the academic library consortium of Virginia, serving 72 non-profit academic libraries, including all 39 public colleges and universities, 32 independent universities, and the Library of Virgina. Through cooperative and shared collection development, resource sharing, open and affordable course content programs, education and training opportunities, and strategic initiatives, VIVA directly supports academic institutions across the state in providing access to high quality academic resources for students and faculty at Virginia institutions.
VIVA Open and Affordable Initiatives
VIVA investigates and supports open educational, resource, and access models that increase access and affordability to high quality educational resources for Virginia students. VIVA efforts focus directly on the costs of higher education for Virginia students, empowering faculty to contribute to the growing field of open course materials and providing statewide support to open education library leaders.
