Overview

This resource includes all of the recordings and activities for the different sessions of the VIVA Open Skills Academy: Building Your OER Practice. The first session is An Introduction to Getting Started with VIVA Open on November 10, 2022. The following Academy sessions will be hosted in February, 2023 and will build on the foundational skills and practices of collaborating to curate, evaluate, create, and share Open Educational Resources (OER) to further develop projects to advance OER in your work.

Introduction to Getting Started with VIVA Open

This session provides an introduction to getting started with the dynamic VIVA Open! digital library with an overview of the Open Educational Resources & Practices that are making an impact on teaching and learning in Virginia and beyond. Together we explore VIVA Open’s collaborative tools that support effective discovery, curation, and sharing of high-quality course materials, and provide time for participants to practice using VIVA Open’s tools and discuss the many ways OER can impact your work.

  • Get an overview of VIVA Open’s tools for OER discovery, curation, collaboration, and sharing
