The goals of this project are to adapt the no-cost OpenStax Anatomy and Physiology textbook for the two-semester course that Nursing and Allied Health students take, and prepare a laboratory manual to accompany this textbook. The manual will be developed to contain interactive exercises that interest the students, use the scientific method to improve critical thinking, and provide expertly prepared sketching exercises that pedagogy research has shown to significantly enhance learning anatomy. The project will reduce textbook costs while improving learning for 25% of the university’s 5000 students, and others in the Open Education Resource (OER) community.
