About me

My name is Nasim Khawaja. I am a native of Pakistan, and have been living in the U.S. since 1988. I am a full-time ESL faculty member in the rank of Professor at Annandale campus of Northern Virginia Community College. I love teaching ESL to adult immigrant students. I can relate to their struggle and stories, and they can be motivated and inspired with mine.

My educational qualifications are as under:

TESL (Teaching English as Second Language) Certificate - GMU
M.A. Journalism, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan

I am greatly honored and humbled to be one of the recipients of the VCCS Chancellor’s Faculty Fellowship 2011-2012.

I am amazed to see that there is no subject classification for English or ESL in VIVA.
